 | Girl and Boy Scout Art Badges | 1 1/2 Hours | Girl and Boy Scout Art Badges
Schedule an art class at the Currier Museum Art Center for your Girl or Boy Scouts to achieve new badge requirements. Scouts are taught hands-on lessons in clay, painting, photography or fabric arts. These two hour long projects are $165.00 for a group of twelve and include a guided tour of the Currier Museum of Art. All materials are included, groups larger than 12 will be charged an additional $14.00 per scout (maximum 15 scout total).
CLAY: Handbuild a piece of pottery in the Currier Museum Art Center’s clay studio. Experience the entire process of starting with raw clay to completing a finished glazed project. Choose from constructing a vase, tile, or clay sculpture using coil and slab techniques. (Maximum number of 15 students)
FABRIC ART: Weave a small tapestry or rug on a frame loom using rug yarn in bold colors. For the older students choose from creating a hand-woven bag or weave a belt or headband from pearl cotton yarn. (Maximum number of 12 students)
PAINTING: Learn to Paint a self portrait or landscape inspired by artists such as Picasso, Monet, or Matisse. Study the basic e3lements of design including line, color and composition. (Maximum number of 15 students)
ALTERNATIVE PROCESS PHOTOGRAPHY: Using the Art Center’s photography studio, learn alternative process techniques in traditional dark room processes. With the use of light and transparent objects create interesting, abstract images. (Maximum number of 8 students)
